Every Realtor Should Have a Flip Video Cam

I picked up one of these Flip Video Cams the other day because I like technology that is quick to use, and easily transported.  I have an HD Camcorder, an SLR camera, various computers, and Iphone, etc…believe me, I have more technology in my home office than most Corporate Real Estate offices have combined…but this flip video cam is remarkable.  I got the Flip Mino which is the new flip camera in their line and must say that it is incredibly easy to take a high quality video of just about anything.  The back of the unit is pretty simple.  There is a big red button on the back that starts recording and stops recording.  It uses flash ram to store video and will record 60 minutes of video.  It as rechargeable batteries built in (similar to the iphone), a flip up usb port that connects to the computer to upload videos, edit them, etc, and the software supplied with a push of a button, will upload to your favorite video hosting service like youtube or aol video, etc.

If you don’t have video in your arsenal of equipment, you half to try this out…you will be gld you did!

The best deals are online so search for the lowest price.  I got mine from buydig for $149 but get wherever you feel comfortable.

  1. The buying process is so complex that such recommendations should not be made. Readers of all types would read this. Some would know about video recording, other would have already done it, still others wouldn’t have liked their experience with this particular model.

  2. The buying process can be complex if one lets it or it can be simple. The device gains since it is simple to use and simple to upload video. The video it records is excellent and recording and uploading is almost just a button click away. If cost is an issue and I know it may be for many realtors today, this is one device that delivers alot for what I would consider a low price tag. If it is not “what the doctor orderd” then you could easily return it.

    thanks for your response

  3. As someone who’s worked with video producers and shot a fair amount of professional video on my own, I was surprised to find out how much I enjoyed using this camera. It’s compact, extremely dyrable and shoots decent quality video.

Video is not for every real estate professional but as I’ve said several times, it’s something everyone should at least try once. That said, your job as a agent is to be the local expert and market property. Should you come to the conclusion it’s not for you, post a project on WellcomeMat and let the Video Pros come to you!

  4. Video is the new tool of the web savvy realtor. It used to be that real estate consumers visited the website with the most pictures, then consumers seemed to gravitate towards sites w/ a good number of virtual tours. Now the clear winner is the website that has video of the areas and the listings. Realtor’s that see this trend, push through the learning curve and implement the technology will ultimately see the most success.
