Being in Tampa Real Estate, Engineering Consulting, and a few other side projects, I am always involved in Technology in some way shape or form. I guess I am lucky since I have an Engineering Degree or 2 so this stuff is easy for me. But what I don’t get, is that I keep hearing that agents must get more involved in Technology, video, audio, pictures, etc and they still don’t! I mean how difficult is it to go pick up a video camera and shoot some video. With todays technology, all you need to do is push a button. I mean how difficult is it to take a photo. Again, the same thing, push a button. Uploading is just as simple. I see now that some camera are starting to come out that are wifi ready and you can upload from the camera without ever attaching to the computer. Easy again.
Unfortunately, some Agents just make this task harder than it is. After all, this is the fun stuff. Taking photos, videos and using it to sell property, Fun, Fun, Fun. I take photos all the time and shoot alot of video. All for fun and if it gets me noticed, then that is great as well.
So if you are an Real Estate Agent, go pick up you old point and shoot camera, take some photos, upload them and share them with some clients or friends. Same with video. You may be surprised at how easy it really is.

I agree with regarding real estate agents and technology. In order for agents to keep up with the competition they need to be involved with photo, video, and any other new mediums. I think where a lot of agents get hung up is with the desktop/laptop platform they run. Programs like Picasa make digital photo so easy. I prefer working with Picasa on my PC instead of Iphoto.
One area that PC users can really struggle with is video. From uploading your video to creating a movie it is extremely difficult. I recently tried creating a movie from some footage I took and it was next to impossible on a PC. Not to mention the video software crippled my machine. Luckily I have both a PC and a MAC. Imovie makes it extremely easy to upload, edit and convert your cameras footage to a sharable file with ease.
For agent who have tried any aspect of video uploading or editing with a PC, don’t give up. Go to a MAC store and try it on a MAC. You will be extremely surprised at how quickly you can make professional videos.

I agree. I have both Mac’s and PC’s and I would say that it is extremely easy with anything video/photo on my mac (picasa is available for the mac by the way).

There are also some suppliers that brand there products as something which are clearly not what there being sold as and agents perception of these products is poor because of these companies that are clearly misbranding their products
